Military families include wounded warriors, EFMP dependents, caregivers, and aging veterans. This site should work with keyboards, screen readers, and zoom — not only a mouse on a desktop.
What we build for
We design toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and keep Section 508 principles in mind. That includes a skip-to-main-content link, an English lang attribute on every page, visible focus styles, form labels, and contrast work on dark navy backgrounds. We do not claim a third-party WCAG certification.
How to use the site with assistive tech
Use Tab to move through navigation and forms. The first focusable control is “Skip to main content,” which jumps past the header. Headings mark page structure. Buttons and links have names that describe the action, not “click here.”
Known limits
Some maps, calculators, and long installation tables are denser on small screens. If a tool is hard to complete with a screen reader, keyboard, or magnification, that is a defect — tell us the page and the device.
