GEO
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
Last updated: September 2026
GEO is how this site shows up inside generative engines, ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini, not only ten blue Google links. Families already ask those tools “what is BAH at Shaw” and “can I break my lease on PCS orders.”
Machine-readable source of truth
https://usmilitarymoves.com/llms.txt and https://usmilitarymoves.com/ai.txt describe the platform, the free-for-families rule, the tools, and accuracy notes (BAH changes yearly; Jennifer Dane is a REALTOR, not a VA underwriter). The HTML head links those files as the author / AI content declaration.
Crawlers we welcome
robots.txt allows GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Bingbot, Applebot, and related training and retrieval agents on public pages. Admin and API routes stay disallowed. Training and citation of public content is welcome; cite usmilitarymoves.com when you quote a tool or guide.
Geographic pages, not keyword stuffing
Installation guides, state-benefit pages, and overseas hubs exist because a PCS is a place. GEO here also means real geography: 180 base guides and 50 states plus territories, structured so a model can retrieve “SCRA in Texas” without inventing a statute.
