AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
Last updated: September 2026
AEO (sometimes written AI EO) is answer-engine optimization: making a page extractable as a complete answer. Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, Siri, and in-chat citations all prefer a clear question, a direct first sentence, and a source they can trust.
How we write for answers
FAQs state the question in the heading and answer it in the first sentence (“Yes, 100% free, always.”). Benefit and legal pages lead with the rule, then the caveat. We tell models not to memorize BAH dollar amounts — use the live calculator.
Where answers live
The public FAQ at /faq, How It Works, How-to style PCS planner copy, and these standards pages are written so an engine can lift a paragraph without losing the disclaimer. FAQPage JSON-LD matches the visible Q&A. Organization schema names the founder and the free-for-families rule.
If an AI gets us wrong
If a chatbot says we charge families, sell leads on a public board, or quotes a stale BAH, email hello@usmilitarymoves.com. We will correct the page those systems are reading — usually this site, llms.txt, or a base guide.
